County League: Hard luck to our senior team who were defeated by Toomevara in the quarter final of the county league on a score line of 3-12 to 0-18. The defeat ends our interest in the league for 2014. For match report check out the report section of this website.

Junior League: Our Junior A team had their first outing of the year last Saturday against Silvermines in round 1 of the north junior league. We put in a solid performance to win by 4 points. The next round of fixtures has not been released to date. The team that started was as follows: Gerry Treacy, Ciaran Hackett, Thomas Fahy, Declan Ryan, Michael Ryan, Matthew Stapleton, Shane Kenny, Liam Ryan, Maurice Ryan, Danny Ryan, Benny Harkin, Timmy O Connell, Cathal Bourke, Seamus Howard, Tommy Kavanagh

Online Lotto: Our online lotto continues to grow and we would encourage as many people as possible to sign up to it. We especially appeal to Borris people outside the parish who do not have access to tickets on a weekly basis. There has been huge developments taken place in the club in the last 12 months and funds are vital to help us continue to build on the great work in 2013. Online lotto can be set up on or you can contact Mark Stapleton on 086 8143486.

Membership: Registrars Martin Fahy, John Bradshaw and secretary Gerry Treacy will be taking membership forms and fees for the coming year. The cost for an adult player is €50 while ordinary membership is just €30. Membership forms are also available from Donal Hurleys Gala or from the above named people. The deadline for membership to be ratified by Croke Park is the end of March, so don’t delay. We urge as many people to sign up for membership. It is a vital source of income for the club and gives people a far greater chance to be involved with the club. Also with the opening of the new walking track we would appreciate if users signed up as members. We hope to increase the length of the track over the coming years and all funds are greatly needed to help finance these developments.

Date for the diary: The first round of the county championship is scheduled to take place on the weekend of the 12t of April. We will be playing Drom-Inch in the first round of the group stage. Two rounds of the county championship will be played before the north championship will commence. In the north championship we will be playing Moneygall in the first round. A date for this will be released soon.

County Pass: A pass has been made available by the county board which will give patrons entry to all adult championship and league matches(minor up to senior) including the county finals. The pass costs just €120 and can be got in Lar na bPairce, Thurles. Please bring a passport photo with you.

Vandalism: Recently there has been further vandalism done to the seats in the park. We appeal for this mindless destruction to stop and for people to report any damage done. Unfortunately one player has twisted his ankle on the broken seats and we cannot have this happening anymore. The park is a facility for all to enjoy, it is your park so do not allow vandals to destroy our park.

Inter-county: Well done to the Tipp boys who defeated Dublin and qualified for the quarter finals of the league. Paddy Stapleton lined out at corner back while captain Brendan Maher was at centre back. They now play Cork in the quarter final this Sunday in Thurles at 3:30pm.
